Polylab is a system for creating multiple, unique, and meaningfully repeatable exercises to improve student learning. Polylab uses hash functions to create parameters in exercises. We can create infinite variations, for individual students, which prevents copy/paste cheating or for multiple practice assignments, with little overhead. You’ll learn about boring, non-repeatable exercises in cybersecurity that led to Polylab’s creation. You’ll see example exercises in networking, command line navigation, steganography (secret messages), and basic digital data representations. The session will help you create your own Polylab-inspired answer verification with Microsoft Forms, Google Sheets, and Power Automate, to collect answers and evaluate correctness.
