About me
Carmen Strand is an Instructional Designer (ID) at World Campus and is currently the lead ID for the Online Master of Business Administration (OMBA) program. As part of this team, she created Artificial Intelligence (AI) icons for use in courses, which ran in FA24, have been redesigned based on survey feedback, and are running in SP25. She is also part of the Ai Toolkit Working Group.
She is a member of the World Campus Learning Design (WCLD) AI Working Group, which is a team that meets weekly to review, test, and work on AI projects and technologies. As an example, as part of this group, she helped design and refined a custom GPT to aid content creation in a faculty development course.
She previously co-led an AI exploration team at World Campus charged with discovering the landscape of AI at Penn State, benchmarking with other educational institutions, discovering practical applications of AI in online courses, developing expertise and providing information about AI to help determine the strategic direction of the unit, which was presented in a previous TLT Symposium.
