About me
I am the head of Penn State's Center for Teaching and Learning, the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence. I've been in this position for more than 15 years. Our center has a primary strategic goal to center issues of equity and inclusion in our work. This includes ensuring that our programs and services support members of the instructional community that encounter DEI issues as teachers, creating development opportunities to enhance awareness, knowledge, and practices, and integrating equity and inclusion in our work as individuals and as a center.
I am a longtime POD Network member and a past president. As a center director and practitioner, the most common things people ask me about these days are student ratings/faculty evaluation and strategic planning, I also have a long time interest in DEI in STEM. I am a member of the POD Professional Development Committee (PDC), the Equity & Education SIG, and chair of the ad hoc Data Governance Committee.
